Situated on a hillside approximate 11kms inland from the popular coastal resort of Torrevieja, Quesada (Cuidad Quesada) is a relatively new hillside town in south-eastern Spain boasting excellent views of the Mediterranean coastline and the nearby rolling hills, salt marches and lakes of the region.

Thanks to its mild Mediterranean climate, Quesada is able to offer holidaymakers, retirees and ex pats a great outdoor lifestyle, with everything from golfing to sunbathing, cycling and hiking on offer. In fact, the town is built around the palm-lined and manicured 18-hole La Marchesa golf-course which is fast developing a reputation for excellent golfing in the region.

The salt marshes and lakes to the south-east form part of a national park, providing an excellent place to hike and birdwatch, whilst the white, sandy beaches of the Costa Brava are just a 10-minute drive away. A waterpark near to neighbouring Rojales is also a popular leisure destination for children.

With a population of just over 12,000 people, many of whom are British ex pats and northern Europeans, Cuidad Quesada is able to offer a home away from home for UK holidaymakers, as well as provide a close-knit community for those choosing to make Spain their home.

Cuidad Quesada also enjoys good transport access, with a choice of two nearby airports– Alicante, approximately 50kms to the north, and Murcia San Javier airport around 20 minutes’ drive to the southeast - as well as the AP-7 motorway linking the town with Spain’s national road network and CV-90 providing access to the coast.

Along with the salt industry in Torrevieja, tourism and the leisure industry form an important part of the local economy, with many jobs coming from real estate, golfing and numerous bars and restaurants based in the area, the latter offering residents a wide variety of both local and international cuisine, with seafood a particular speciality. The town features most modern amenities, including banks and shops, a medical centre and social club.

Whether for retirement, relocation, or leisure purposes, or as a way to earn some holiday rental income, buying property in Cuidad Quesada offers excellent returns on your investment. A relatively new urban development, Cuidad Quesada offers a mixture of modern spacious apartments and luxury villas meaning there is bound to be something to suit your needs. Pools and outdoor entertainment areas are common features of many, as are excellent views.
