Fortaleza is a large City situated in the North East of Brazil and is the state capital of Ceara and has a population of over 2.5 million people, making it the 5th largest City in Brazil.

The Fortaleza airport is named; Pinto Martins International airport and is totally air conditioned. It is on 4 levels with the basement having car park facilities for 1000 cars.

Fortaleza is one of the host cities of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, for which Brazil is the host.

Fortaleza has 25 kilometers of beaches. This stretch of coastline has many different types of beaches;

- The Bohemian beach with its bars and night life.
- The Meireles beach which has the highest number of hotels in Fortaleza with many along the beach front and is where both the locals and tourists amble.
- Mucuripe beach which is still used by the local fishermen and
- The Praia do Futuro which has 7 kilometers of beach and is the preferred location for sun bathing and surfing. It is also famously known for its ‘barracas’, rustic restaurants built on the beach.

The North of Brazil is warmer than the South, although warm all year round, the hottest months are December and January with an average high of 31°C and low of 25°C. The rainy season is February to May which is known as their winter however the average high is still 27°C. The city of Fortaleza is hot and appropriate for bathing on the beaches there is a great breeze from the Atlantic Ocean which is also ideal for the wind surfing and kite flying. The Embuaca beach was voted the 2nd best beach in the world for wind surfing which is located Just North of Fortaleza.

Having some of the best beaches in the world where you can participate in most water sports which would include, diving, snorkelling, surfing, wind surfing, kite flying, water skiing, fishing and much, much more.

Many middle class Brazilians from the South purchase property in the Fortaleza region. The prices are lower than the South, the weather is warmer and with the city of Fortaleza having a Brazilian presence than just a tourist destination, it has become popular. Foreign investors have also recognised the opportunity to invest in Fortaleza as it offer a greater exit strategy selling their off plan properties to a wider audience of Brazilians and the foreign market looking for ready build properties.
